Halloween Bookmarks

I made the cute Halloween bookmarks after I read this Steph's Stampin Stuff blog. She made these for her class and I thought they were just the cutest. So made some for my daughter Caties's class for Halloween and I also made some to send to my sister-in-law to sell at her hair salon in Columbia, SC. I think that they are adorable. The stamps are from Taylored Expressions.http://tayloredexpressions.com/. I used my friend Leigh's puches from Stampin' Up to cut out the circles. I colored all my images with my Copic Markers and added sparkle with my Spica at You Glitter pens.

I'm back!

I know, I know you are asking where the heck has Holly been? Well I've been here, but just not motivated. I'm sure that we all have been there at one point or another but I am fighting my back and trying to put on a happy face. I have been doing alot of different crafting projects but I might not have time to publish them all today so keep coming back next week to see more.

The first thing I'm putting up today is a few of my lollipops. I'm sure you have been asking yourself, "Why does Holly's blog say Holly's Lollies?" Well because I am wanting to start a small business selling lollipop bouquets and treats. All the lollipop are hand poured and homemade. I am going to be posting more of my creations in the coming weeks so keep checking back. I also realized something when I was taking my pictures yesterday. I need to take a few pictures before I put the wrapping on them, because you really can't see how pretty they are from the pictures. If you are interested in purchasing the lollipops please contact me at this blog.

Princess Cupcake

I just bought this stamp set from Taylored Expressions and I just thought this was the cutest. Taylor also has a sketch challenge every Friday on her blog and this card is based on that sketch. I did turn one portion to the side to accomodate the image, but I think overall it turned out pretty cute. Taylor mentioned that you could use the images for things other than Halloween so my goal was to make the witch look like a princess. I masked over the witches broom and added a star brad from Making Memories. I colored my image using my copics. Taylor's other images all have a cherry at the top of the cupcake so I added a rhinestone brad from Stampin' Up to the top and the other brads are from SU!. My star wasn't glittery so I added glue from my glue pen then added glitter to the top of the brad. I did add a little on my own to the image, but it still looks great.

Gone Fishin'

This card turned out the be a 3fer. I got to use three challenges and I'm loving it. Although it doesn't have a lot of my white gel pen, it does have some and it gives it just the right accent of color. The sewing was for the Watcha Doin' Wednesday challenge at Storage Units Ink and More and the sketch was for the Wednesday Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I just broke out my sewing machine and I have to say, I'm lovin' it. Plus, my machine does lots of cool stitches so I know that you will be seeing lots of sewing on my cards in the future.

Ingredients:

Stamps: Storage Units Ink and More

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Paper: BasicGrey, Stampin' Up

Accessories: Copic Markers, Archival Sepia, sponges, Inkssentials white gel pen, sewing machine

Summer Fun

I know, I know, summer is almost over and here in Maryland this week it actually is starting to feel like fall, but I made these for the Cat's Pajamas Tuesday Challenge. The inspiration was to use the image above to create something. Well, I didn't think that I could do a card justice with the stamps I have and these colors, but what did inspire me was that this just screamed sipping a margarita by the pool. Jen at http://i{heart}2stamp.com lives in Texas and for those of you who know me, know I lived in Texas too, and I just loved sitting by my pool or the neighborhood pool and having a few drinks with my friends. So, I decided to make these slip-ons for straws, I needed a holder so I went to www.splitcoaststampers.com and looked through the tutorials and found this tutorial for a hanging treat box by Christina Fischer.
Ingredients:

Stamps: The Cat's Pajamas

Ink: Palette Noir Hybrid

Back to School

This card was made using the colors from the Splitcoast Color Challenge for this week. The colors that you need to use are Red Riding, Going Gray and Green Galore. I didn't have most of these papers but I found colors that matched pretty close. This image is from Storage Units Ink and More and I think they are just so cute. This reminds me of my daughter, because she is always asking me to fix her hair in "pigtails braided." As usual I got a little help with the finishing touches but and it turned out great.

Baby Card!

This weeks TCP Tuesday Challenge #22 was to use this image on a card. I do have a few friends that are still in the baby stages but not many, but this image is really so cute. I also used this weeks sketch challenge from Splitcoast stampers for this too. My friend mentioned that Anna Wight takes little of paper and threads them through the button so I decided to try it and it turned out great, so thanks Leigh and Anna. I used Copic markers to color the image the designer paper is from a DCWV stack and my button were from a bag bought at Michaels many moons ago. I also added a little of the white souffle pen to make the lamb to make stand out.

Dad's Birthday

Yesterday was my Dad's 75th birthday. My dad is out of town on a trip to California. I am actually so proud of my parents. They really haven't travelled very much and almost never by plane, but this time they went on an organized trip to the West Coast to visit the sites. The trip turned out the coincide with his 75th birthday so we didn't get to organize a big party but I think that he liked going on a trip instedad of having a party. So this card's for you Dad.

Cody the Great IV

Here's our dog Cody eating at the table. I don't let him do this, but this morning he jumped up on the chair and was sitting there, so C decided to put his food on the table. Well, Cody then decided to enjoy breakfast at the table this morning.

The challenge today on the Storage Units Ink and More blog was to use chipboard. Well, at first I didn't even know what chipboard was, but I learned that you can use your cereal boxes for this. So I got out my handy dandy Cricut machine and then inserted my Jasmine cartridge into the machine and selected this oval charm tag. Then I used designer paper from the DCWV Nana's kids stack ran my image through my Xyron machine to make it sticky to go on my chipboard. I stamped these images from Storage Units Ink and More and cut out and proped up with mounting tape. On the back I just used pink paper and stamped the sentiments from this same set. I colored all images with Prismacolor markers and highlighted with the Spica at You glitter pens. My ribbon is from American Crafts.

Seriously Sweet and Sassy

Actually the name of the stamps used were Seriously Sassy from Stampin Up, but I thought that was a good title for this card. This was a color challenge card from Splitcoast Stampers, the challenge was to use Rose Red, Black and Kraft paper. This card actually took me a long time to make because I couldn't get it just the way I wanted it. So mid card making I decided to take a break and walk down to my friend Leigh's house and see what was up. Leigh was nice enough to make me a sandwich and then we gabbed for a while so then I went back home and took another shot at the card. I figured most of it out but I showed it to Leigh again before we went to the bus stop and she said, "Add a layer of black to the back." Well, thanks Leigh because that did make a big difference. Leigh is a terrific card maker, check out her blog at http://sunflowerstudio.typepad.com.

Card details: Ink from Pallette Noir Hybrid, Dew Drops from Ellen Hutson LLC, Ribbon from American Crafts, flower punch, papers from Stampin Up, glitter pen from Spica at You.

First day of school

This is my oldest first day of middle school photo. As some of you know, I am not the best Mom about keeping track of their first day pictures, but I did take a picture today. Below is M and C's first day back photos. C is going into first grade and M is going into 4th. They didn't want to go outside to have their picture taken so they are just sitting on the couch hanging out before school started. C also didn't want to wear the outfit I picked out for her so this is what she pulled out to wear. You can't really tell but it is a Demi Lavato t-shirt that she picked out at the Jonas Brothers concert we went to this summer.

Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge

This card was made for the color challenge too. The images are from Alesa Baker Designs. The DP is from Amy Butler for K & Company. I used my copics to color and used Stardust glitter pen to add a little sparkle. The wire is from Memory Box.

Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge

Here is a card that I made for my daughter for her first day of 6th grade. Although, I added the sentiment "Cool" and she said to me, "Mom, that really doesn't make sense." It is really hard to see in the photograph but I used the heart background from Fiskars. The stamp image is from Penny Black. I used Copic markers to color the image and used a little glitter pen tfrom Sakura to add a little sparkle.

SCS Sketch Challenge #190

The challenge for this week on SCS sketch challenge was to use this sketch. I bought this great Changito stamp the other night at the Queens Ink in Baltimore and really wanted to get inky with it. The papers are from DCWV Fall stacks as well as the textured cardstock. I also used Inkssentials Glossy Accents on the batman costume and pumpkin. I wanted to make Changito stand out a little so I added a little of the At You Spica Glitter pen in gold. The ribbon is K & Company by Jen Yanok paper adhesive ribbon. I also used a Hallowen brad from Around the Block.
